The concept of Telemedicine is highly essential in developing countries like Pakistan, that lack basic health care infrastructure. The doctor to population ratio in our country is 1: 1,436 as compared to the 1: 500 in wealthy countries. In the case of a specialist, the figures in Pakistan are even worse, 1:12,800.
Realizing these facts, the Electronic Government Directorate published a Telemedicine Turnkey projects to assist the government in transforming delivery of healthcare services and making them available at the door-steps of common man, through the use of information and communication technology as a solution. This project was competed by well known software and telecommunication vendors like; Syndicated Technologies & Elixir Technologies, NetSol, PakDataCom, SUPARCO, and Orietal Technologies. As per latest update, the project has been awarded to SUPARCO
I urge all of you to contribute about Telemedicine in the forum to increase the awareness and importance of Telemedicine

Its a great initiative. SUPARCO has experience of establishing and managing pakistan's first satellite based telemedicine application in sindh province. Moving in all four provinces through this project will be very practical. What is the current status of project ?

Sorry for the late reply.
Yes soon you'll have the social networking (where members may share their experience, pictures and get some nice and latest stuff).
The project is also have goal to paperless the hospitals.
i.e to computerize the hospitals each and every department so that it provide efficiency.
